Lake Ohau Cottage: windsurfing on Lake Ohau
Ohau means wind and Lake Ohau is the effect of some howling winds that can funnel in from the nortwest. Windsurfing on Lake Ohau isn't suitable for the beginner or the fainthearted. It is a full-on, screaming affair. September through December are usually the windiest months, but anytime there is a strong northwest, there are whitecaps on the lake.
